Born on August 5, 1954, in Lenoir County, Sylvia lived a life filled with kindness, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. She dedicated many years of her career to serving others at the Caswell Center, retiring in 2016. Her commitment, warmth, and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her, both at work and beyond.

Sylvia will be remembered for her remarkable strength, her infectious laughter, and her boundless generosity. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, always putting others before herself.

She is survived by her three children: Andrea Phillips (husband Reggie Phillips), Monica Pickett (husband Tyrome Pickett), and Aaron Davis (wife Amber Davis). Sylvia also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Donovan Davis (wife Kim Davis), Rahmel Phillips, Cequon Phillips Lexi Phillips, Meiona Pickett, and Tyaira Obie (husband Dannie Obie), Addison Davis and Skyler Miller as well as twelve great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brothers: Alfred Davis Jr.(Wife Josephine Davis), Richard Davis (Wife Sheila Davis), and Michael Davis; and her sisters: Vivian Jones (Husband Late Milton Jones Sr.), Juanita Nobles (Husband Late Willie Lee Nobles), Hilda Davis (David), and Elresia Davis.
