Bowing in submission to our Heavenly Father, We the Staff & Management of Whitfield Mortuary, LLC humbly announce the transition of 79 year old, Ms. Melvia Christine Smith - Thompson who passed to eternal rest on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina. 

The Celebration of Life will be conducted at 12 noon, Saturday, July 8th, 2023 from the United American Free Will Baptist Tabernacle. Burial will follow in the Mills Memorial Cemetery. The public visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.
