It has become the humble duty of Shannon G. Whitfield and the Staff of Whitfield Mortuary to announce the transition of 38 year old, Mr. Maretto "Pop" Byrd of Kinston, North Carolina who transitioned to eternal rest on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at ECU Health in Greenville, North Carolina.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 1:00PM Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the Alpha & Omega Church with Bishop Elaine Edwards officiating. Burial will take place 10:00am Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will take place from 4:00PM - 8:00PM Friday, May 26, 2023 at the Lenston Whitfield Memorial Chapel - 1501 W. Vernon Avenue, Kinston, North Carolina 28504.
Precious Memories are stored in the hearts of his beloved mother, Emma Wilson of Kinston, brothers, Elder Gregory Edwards ( Kimberly) of Ayden, Marcus Wilson of Winston Salem, Randall Shephard, James Wilson, Lamont Byrd all of Kinston, sisters, Juanita Wilson, Liltesha Wellington, Demetrice Byrd, Christina Shepard, Latisha Owen, all of Kinston, and Katie Wilson of Newport News, VA, and a special niece, Anaiah Wilson of Newport News, VA.
