Humbly Serving, We The Staff & Management of Whitfield Mortuary, LLC announces the earthly transition of, 73 year old, Mr. James Powell of Kinston who finished his earthly journey on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at the Harmony Hall Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. 

A public viewing will take place from 5pm-7pm on Friday, June 6, 2025 in the Lenston Whitfield Sr. Memorial Chapel (1501 W. Vernon Ave. Kinston, NC 28504). A celebration of life will be held at 2pm Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Burning Bush Church Ministries, Inc. (1876 John Mewborne Rd, Kinston, NC 28504). Burial will take place at 2pm Monday, June 9, 2025 at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery (164 Longs Plant Farm Rd, Goldsboro, NC 27534).
