Adhering to the Will of our Almighty Father, we, the management of Whitfield Mortuary and the Gooding family, publicly announce the earthly transition of 87-year-old Mr. Alexander "Fernie" Gooding, who traded time for eternity early Friday morning, January 10, 2025, in the comfort of his home. 

Life Celebration service will be conducted at 1:00PM Thursday, January 30, 2025 at the St. James FWB Church (2989 Hwy 258 South - Kinston, North Carolina 28501). Burial will follow in Mills Memorial Gardens with military honors.

A visitation will take place 30 mins prior to service time.
