In Loving Memory of Dr. Malcolm Beech

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Dr. Malcolm Beech, a beloved husband, father, and esteemed community leader, who left us on Sunday, February 2, 2025. Dr. Beech was dedicated to education, diversity, and teaching history, leaving a lasting impact on the community through his leadership in the African Diaspora Alliance.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mariam Mohammed, his children, Leslie Beech-Legion, Malcolm Mohammed, Kelly Beech, and Arleta Craig, his stepchildren, Renee Gamboa, Will Moore Latifah Sky and Benjamin Sky, his grandchildren, his nephews and nieces, and a host of family, friends, and colleagues who will dearly miss him.

A Requiem Mass in his honor will be held on March 8, 2025, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 400 Academy Heights Road, Kinston, NC 28504, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with a reception to follow. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating his remarkable life and legacy.

Rest in peace, Dr. Malcolm. Your love and light will continue to shine through us always.
