Alice, the daughter of Ander Frank and Classie May Whitfield, grew up in Kinston, NC where she touched the lives of everyone she met with her warm smile and generous spirit. She dedicated her life to her family, always putting their needs above her own, and to serving others through her work at the New Jersey Clerk of Courts, Ohio Clerk of Courts, West Pharmaceuticals, and Lenox Corporation.

Her career spanned over three decades, where she touched the lives of countless individuals through her dedication to service and support of her community. Alice was an individual of unique contrasts. She cherished her moments of solitude, finding in them a sanctuary for reflection and renewal. Yet, despite her reclusive nature, she was deeply loved and respected by her colleagues, neighbors, friends, and family. Alice had a special way of making each person feel valued and understood. Her advice and support were sought after and always given with a thoughtful, listening heart.

Her generosity extended beyond her immediate circle. Alice was a dedicated supporter of St. Jude Research Hospital, demonstrating her deep empathy and commitment to helping those in need, especially children facing life's toughest battles. This act of giving was a reflection of her compassionate and selfless spirit.

In the comfort of her kitchen, Alice found joy in the art of cooking. Her collard greens and apple dumplings were more than just meals; they were expressions of her love and care, a way to bring people together and share in life's simple pleasures. Each dish she prepared was a testament to her desire to nurture those around her.

Alice's creativity and skill were also evident in her contribution to her brother, Michael’s upholstery business. Her knowledge and guidance were instrumental in its inception and growth, showcasing her talent and her willingness to support her family's aspirations. This endeavor was not just a business venture; it was a bond, strengthened by shared goals and mutual respect.

Her love for sewing, particularly for crafting blankets and clothes for new babies, was another way Alice expressed her care and affection. Each stitch was imbued with warmth and well-wishes, creating a tangible representation of her love and welcoming spirit.

Alice's enjoyment of crossword puzzles was a reflection of her sharp mind and love for intellectual challenges. These puzzles were not just a pastime but a testament to her inquisitive and keen intellect.

An avid fan of boxing and tennis, Alice appreciated the skill, strategy, and resilience these sports embody. Watching these events brought her excitement and joy, revealing a dynamic and spirited side of her character.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Louvell Whitfield, Donovan Whitfield, Dr. Michael Whitfield, and Christopher Whitfield, and one brother-in-law, Abron Joyner

Alice's legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will be carried forward by her daughter, Yolanda (Curtis); her beloved grandchildren, Joreal, Alice, William, and Miracle; great-grandchildren, William III “Trey” and Amaris; her sisters Velma Hicks (Clarence) and Mildred Joyner; her brothers Dennis Whitfield, Ricky Whitfield (Jackie), Jimmy Whitfield, Anthony Whitfield, and Darrett Whitfield (Verdette), one sister-in-law, Doris Whitfield, one sister-in-love, Paulette Alston, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends, and community that was better for her.

As we bid farewell to Alice Faye Whitfield, we honor a life rich in kindness, creativity, and love. Alice taught us the beauty of balancing introspection with community, of extending a helping hand, and of pursuing our passions with dedication. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, a lasting reminder of the incredible impact one person can have.

Alice, though you are no longer with us, your spirit, your love, and the wisdom you shared will forever be a part of who we are.
